Is it really free? What's the catch?
Really free, and there's no catch to find. Listings, products, photos, deals, the QR booth card, review replies, insights: all of it costs $0, with no commission and no card on file. We make our money from optional shopper subscriptions in the iOS app. Charging farmers to be findable would ruin the one thing that makes us useful: a complete, honest map.
My farm is already on FarmHop and I never added it. Why?
We build the map from public sources like state agriculture registries, farm directories, and your own website, so shoppers can find you even before you sign up. Imported listings are clearly labeled “Imported, check first” until someone confirms them. Claiming yours starts from the same free listing form: once our team approves, you're linked to the existing page as its verified owner — never a duplicate. It takes a few minutes and puts every field in your hands.
How do I prove I own the farm?
Three ways, all self-serve: verify with an email address on your farm's website domain, receive a one-time code at the contact email already on the listing, or place a small verification token on your website. Most farms finish in under five minutes. No phone calls, no paperwork, no waiting on a sales rep.
Can I change hours, products, and photos whenever I want?
Yes, that's the whole point. Once you're verified you can update hours, product availability, photos, deals, and a day-of status (“open today”, “sold out”, “u-pick ready”) whenever you like. Edits go live right away in the app.
I sell raw milk or other regulated products. Can I list them?
You can list them wherever your state allows the sale. Rules for raw milk, cottage foods, and the like vary a lot from state to state, so FarmHop adds an automatic disclaimer on these listings and a state-rules note where we have one. Staying within your state's law is still your job; we surface the caution flags, but we can't give legal advice.
What if I want my listing corrected or removed?
Claim it and edit anything yourself, or drop us an email and a human will fix it. If a farm has truly closed, we mark it closed instead of quietly deleting it. That kind of honesty is what keeps shoppers trusting the map you're on.
